28 Days Hair Care Plan
Are you tempted to buy that one product that claims to solve all your hair related problems in one go?
Here’s a friendly advice: Don’t!
First of all, there isn’t a legit hair product that can work its magic in just one day. Secondly, any product that actually manages to do so probably contains lot of questionable ingredients. While it will leave you with lovely locks in one wash, the long term damage would be irreparable. Just stay away from that bottle full of regret.
Things to Know Before Investing in Hair Care Products
Before you invest in hair care, you need to understand a few basic things about human hair. Not all of us are born with a beautiful mane. Some people have naturally thin hair that is more prone to damage. Some of us are blessed with an enviable mane but years of abuse can leave it severely damaged.
From chemical laden shampoos to heating tools and from our diet and lifestyle to pollution and hormonal health, everything contributes to the damage. It happens overtime. It is weeks, months, and possibly years of abuse. So, how can you expect it to be gone with just one product and one use?
Here is hair care rule number one. Just like a fitness plan where you have to follow a proper routine to undo the damage you have done to your body, you need a proper hair care plan to see any real difference. 28 days is the least amount of time you need to actually see results that last.
Let’s begin with week one.
Week 1 – Repentance
Why do we call in repentance? Because you haven’t been too good to your hair. Your hair care plan starts with some major changes that might break your heart. Trust us, it is going to be worth it.
Day 1– Chop some locks off. Yes, we are talking about some serious repentance here. If you haven’t been nice to your hair for a while, there is a high chance that the ends are badly devastated. Excuse our honest but there is no way to revive part of hair that is already dead. Chopping it off will actually expedite the process of repair.
Day 2– Throw away your chemical laden off-the-shelf shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. Go for organic, vegan, and paraben free products with not a speck of sulphate. If you have colored hair, you can try Aveda Color Converse Shampoo and Conditioner.
Day 3– Make a habit of using a clarifying detox shampoo once or twice a week, depending on your styling product usage. These shampoos are designed to get rid of all the traces of chemicals and to balance the pH of hair and scalp. We recommend Wow Apple Cider vinegar shampoo and conditioner. It is a high quality product infused with Moroccan argon oil that doesn’t leave your hair dry like most detox shampoos.
Day 4– Throw away your old styling tools. Hair dryers, straighteners, and curling irons of olden days were more harmful than modern tools. Today, these tools are designed to give the desire looked without extensive damage. So, even if it costs you a bit of money, it won’t cost you any more strands.
Day 5– Go out without using any styling product or styling tool. Since you are just starting with a hair care plan, it is best to start with a break from everything you have been doing.
Day 6 – If you are used to washing your hair on a daily basis, it is best to leave them unwashed for a day. As dirty as it may sound, leaving your scalp unwashed activates the natural sebum. It normalizes the whole process of sebum production. So, if you have excessively oily or dry skin, give nature a day to take charge.
Day 7– If your hair feel too greasy, you can wash it with the apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo we recommended. If it looks fine, try going one more day without shampoo. Remember, rest is just as important for your hair as it is for your body.
Week 2 – Repair
Free from traces of harmful chemical and done with the much-needed break, your hair is now ready for repair. With old products and tools out of the way, you can rest assured that there is nothing that would hinder the repair process. Here is the repair regimen to follow throughout this week.
Day 1– Now you can start introducing natural products such as oil. Coconut oil is one that suits most people. You can also go for Moroccan argan oil. Massage oil lightly into the scalp and leave it overnight. wash it in the morning with a sulfate and paraben free shampoo.
Day 2– With the repair work underway, it is best to avoid straightening irons and curlers for at least a week. Use hair dryers instead. Choose a product that maintains the moisture of your hair and has multiple settings.
Day 3– Use Avocado mask for some serious damage repair on day three. You can mix ripe Avocado pulp with one egg yolk and a spoon full of oil you prefer. We recommend olive oil. Massage the mixture into the scalp and leave it for an hour before washing it off.
Day 4 – Switch your daily supplement with one that contains higher amount of biotin. Biotin can work wonders for your hair, nail, and skin.
Day 5– You have already had your mega repair hair mask for the week. Day fifth is for lighter treatment. a bowl of mayonnaise left on the head for an hour is all you will need.
Day 6– Once again, it is time for a break for your hair. Try to avoid washing, styling, and even brushing your hair as much as possible.
Day 7– Wash with the Wow detox shampoo to get your hair ready for the next phase.
Week 3 – Recovery
Once the repair is in full swing and you begin to see some life in your strand, it is time to begin the recovery process.
Day 1– This is the week you can pick up your styling tools again. However, be sure to use a protective serum before your introduce heat to your hair. A good serum doesn’t only protect, it also nourishes the hair.
Day 2– Nourishment is what this week is all about. On day two, you will need a nourishing hair mask. There are numerous trustworthy product but you can opt for home remedies as well. Use a mixture of banana, honey, milk, and almond paste. Leave it for an hour.
Day 3– Speaking of nourishment, load up on some high protein diet to nourish your from within. Fish and eggs should be included in your meal this week. For vegetarians, there are number of green high protein options such as lentils and beans.
Day 4 – Treat your hair to a nice castor oil massage. Castor oil is amazing for hair thickness and growth.
Day 5– Time for a light nourishment mask for the week. Apply coconut milk mixed with a bit of coconut oil to give your hair a healthy concoction of Niacin, Folate, and Vitamin E.
Day 6– It’s day six and probably weekend. You know it’s time for a break again.
Day 7 – Use any oil of your choice. Leave it overnight and wash it off with a clarifying shampoo.
Week 4 – Rejuvenation
Rejuvenation is all about getting that healthy shine and vitality back. It is also about reactivating your follicles to improve hair growth and prevent hair fall.
Day 1– Invest in a good top coat that makes your hair instantly shiny without loading it with chemicals. There are top coats that contain keratin that eventually improves hair quality.
Day 2– Don’t just rely on serums for keratin. Step out to a salon and get professional keratin treatment. While we believe in DIYs, a trip to the salon every once in a while doesn’t really hurt anyone.
Day 3– Massage your scalp with ginger juice and castor oil mixture to activate the docile hair follicles.
Day 4– Make your hair shine like a diamond with yogurt, egg, and olive oil mask.
Day 5– Treat your hair to some lemon juice and olive oil shortly before your shower. Lemon juices, if used once a month, make each strand shine.
Day 6– Yes, it’s your break day.
Day 7– You can hit the salon for a trim. Trimming the ends every month can actually improve your hair health and growth. Don’t forget to wash with a clarifying and detox shampoo.

They key is to be consistent and committed. In 28 days, you will have locks to fall in love with.
